TYPE-AMI

Type-Ami is the fourth product line that I developed in collaboration with the Italian coachbuilder Caselani. I started designing the Type-Ami in August 2024. The vehicle was not originally intended to be a commercialized product, it was an experimental vehicle for Fabrizio Caselani's personal use, but after the first appearance of the first two running prototypes at the 24H 2CV race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, it was clear that the project could have excellent sales prospects. During December, in collaboration with a dedicated team from the Citroën Style Center, the design was modified and the model in its final form was exhibited at the Rétromobile show in Paris from 5 to 9 February 2025.

Packaged as a complete conversion kit, it was designed to be installed on the Citroën Ami. The Type-Ami is therefore not a car in the strict sense of the definition, but rather a two-seater quadricycle with an electric powertrain that can also be driven by fourteen-year-olds in many parts of Europe. The vehicle features evocative shapes, with clear references to the iconic Citroën HY van born in the post-war era and remained in production until 1981. The kit consists of fiberglass body panels and the necessary brackets and screws for installation which can be fitted to both new and used Citroën Ami donor vehicles and is handcrafted by technicians at the Ceselani factory in Northern Italy. This model is joining the nostalgic Type H and Fourgonnette vans based on Stellantis' Pro One vehicles which are the Citroën Jumper, Jumpy, SpaceTourer and Berlingo.
